No one understands [no one intelligently discerns or comprehends]; no one seeks out God.
ROMANS 3:11
Anyone who decides to follow God closely will have times of being misunderstood by people who have not made the same commitment. Faithless people do not understand faithful people!
There will always be those who won’t quite know what to think of us when we are fully surrendered to God. People did not know what to think of Jesus either. Nobody really understood Him or the call on His life, not even His family.
When we don’t say or do what other people are saying and doing because we have decided to follow God rather than the world, we may be misunderstood and rejected. It hurts when that happens, but always remember that Jesus never rejects you, and that is what really matters.
Your obedience to God may mean that you won’t fit into the regular regimen of what is going on around you. You may feel out of place at times, but in those moments remember that God will reward your faithfulness. He loves you, and when other people are asking, “What is wrong with you?” God will be saying, “There is nothing wrong with you. You are mine and I am proud of you.”
Make up your mind to stand with God and do what He says, even if nobody understands or supports you. Jesus understands you, and He is enough.
