Acknowledgments

No author works alone, and there are a lot of people without whom this book would not have been possible. I really enjoyed creating this book, and am very grateful to Helen Griffin and Andrew Dunn of Frances Lincoln for the opportunity to do so. Joanna Chisholm and designer Becky Clarke once again joined the team to put the whole thing together, and Laura Nicolson put up with my endless emails. Thank you all.

Turning a humble garden cookbook into a thing of beauty once again fell to Jason Ingram and, once again, he surpassed all my expectations. Despite spending several days photographing almost all the jams in this book, we had only one sticky moment: when he asked me (for the sake of the image) to go against a lifetime’s worth of scone eating and put the jam on top of the cream. It is a testament to Jason’s unerring eye and exquisite taste that I allowed this to happen. Thank you.

Rupert and Liz Lywood, thank you again for your generosity, it is enormously appreciated. I’d also like to thank Bedstone Blueberries, the Ludlow Cookshop, South Devon Chilli Farm, Thompson & Morgan and Yorkshire Flowerpots

My family – Mum, Rich, Elle and Ollie – never flinched when presented with a table full of jars for tasting, so thank you all for being ready and willing to grab a spoon.

I think, given the choice, my darling husband would prefer I didn’t write books that created huge piles of washing up. However he keeps schtum and is always incredibly supportive and encouraging: Kevin, thank you.

Last, but by no means least, is our wonderful daughter, who despite being only one year old displayed immense patience when Mummy had to work, and helped out with some excellent stirring as well. Thank you!
