“. . . and that is how this guy, who has always been the chief of the AAA, took your Brainwave. I saw the whole thing,” said the sweet old lady, who was now a man with a curly gray wig and glasses in his lap.
“It’s true,” said the man, who was now a woman with long blond hair and a mustache and a hat in her lap. “We have the proof.”
Venus felt her head spinning. But that might have been from all of the running around and yelling that she had done before the AAA agents caught her, calmed her down, and explained that they weren’t going to turn the Spaceheadz in . . . because they were trying to stop a bad Spaceheadz . . . and they needed their help as good Spaceheadz????
“Eeeek eee eee eeek,” said Major Fluffy.
Bob and Jennifer didn’t say anything. They were still completely scared to be this close to AAA agents. They just nodded.
“Whoa,” said TJ, putting it all together. “So this boss of your whole Anti-Alien outfit turns out to be an alien himself?”
“Exactly,” said Agent Hot Magenta.
TJ smacked his fist in his palm. “So he must be the other bad Spaceheadz who is General Accounting’s pal.”
“And he must be the one who stole the Brainwave to bllrrp Gonf!” added Venus.
“I have no idea what that means,” said Agent Hot Magenta. “But it doesn’t sound good.”
“But what can we do to help?” asked Venus.
Agent Hot Magenta played with her mustache. “The chief let it slip that he can only be stopped by Agent Umber . . . and ‘that Spaceheadz-helping kid.’ ” Agent Hot Magenta turned to Venus. “We believe that kid is the key to stopping this whole mess. And we believe that kid is you.”
“Oh, no,” said Venus.
“Or maybe you?” said Umber, looking at TJ.
“I don’t think so,” said TJ.
“Squeee eek eek eek,” said Major Fluffy.
Bob and Jennifer nodded.
“Did that hamster say something?” said Agent Umber.
“Yes,” said Bob. “There is only one Earth-person kid who can stop bad SPHDZ.”
Venus and TJ said his name at exactly the same time: “Michael K.”
Agent Hot Magenta looked around. “So where is this Michael K.?”
“He’s probably over at his house,” said Venus.
“Oh no,” said Agent Umber. “We might be too late.”
“We have to go now,” said Agent Hot Magenta. “And hope we get to him before the other guys do.”
