The following week, the day had finally come. Beau and his new fiancée, Lucky, would be tying the knot soon. But right now, the only thing tied up were the knots in Beau’s belly.
Why was he so nervous, all of a sudden?
They’d decided to get married on the ranch. Jesse was his best man, just as Beau had been Luke’s best man, and Josie, Lucky’s sister, was her maid of honor.
Lucky looked like a beauty queen as she walked down the aisle towards the altar. Gorgeous in every way.
Beau’s breath caught in his throat. She wore a breathtaking A-line wedding gown that accentuated her beautiful silhouette. She had lovely curves in all the right places. And those lips of hers. Those gorgeous lips. He couldn’t wait to brush his lips against hers and taste them after they said their vows.
Her name might be Lucky, but right now, that’s how he felt. Like the luckiest cowboy in the world to be married to a stunning, gorgeous woman like Lucky.
This isn’t real, Beau. It’s only for the will. For the ranch.
His family was all there including Sue Mae, Luke and his new wife, Jemma, Jesse, Jake, Zack, Chase, and Billy, the cook, who worked at the guest retreat.
Pastor Dave handled the service. And it was a beautiful day with clear blue skies for the outdoor ranch-style wedding. The gentle breeze circulated around them.
“Do you, Beau promise to be a loving friend and partner in marriage to Lucky? Do you promise to support, comfort, and strengthen her through life’s joys and sorrows? Do you promise to share hopes and dreams as you build your lives together, and to grow with Lucky in mind? Will you strive to build a home that is compassionate to all, full of respect and honor, filled with peace, happiness, and love? Do you promise to always be truthful with Lucky, and cherish her for as long as you both shall live?”
Beau paused for a moment. He drew in a deep breath. All eyes were on him. But especially his pretty new bride-to-be.
“I do,” Beau finally said.

“I do.” Lucky said it right away, without hesitation, staring deeply into his eyes and at that moment, he thought they were the only two people on the ranch.
Later, Pastor Dave continued with the ceremony and finally said. “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
With those words, Beau looked lovingly into Lucky’s eyes and lifted her veil. He then leaned down and pressed his lips to hers, kissing her softly. And wow, those lips. She tasted as good as she looked.
Sparks began to fly. He felt the magic travel through him. How could this not be real?
