Classic Vichyssoise

Vichyssoise is quite famous in the region; in fact, and it’s a must to try because of its nutritional content.
Ingredients (6 servings)
1¼ cup of split lentils, soaked and rinsed
½ cup onion, chopped
½ cup celery, chopped
½ cup carrot, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon cooking oil
4 cups chicken stock
2 cups of water
1 bay leaf
1 lemon, juiced
2 ½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon cumin powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric
Preparation
In a large suitable stockpot, heat the butter over low heat. Add the onion and leeks, cover, and cook for 10 minutes. Add the potatoes, salt, and black pepper. Add marjoram, thyme, bay leaf, and stir well. Cover this stockpot and cook for 12 minutes. Stir in the chicken stock and cook to a boil, reduce heat, and cook, partially covered for 30 minutes. Puree the cooked soup in a high-speed blender and cool. Add the cream and serve warm.
