This tomato tarte Tatin beans will make your day with the delightful taste and the special sauce they’re cooked in.
Ingredients (6 servings)
2/3-ounce butter
2 teaspoons olive oil
8 large Roma tomatoes, halved
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, just thawed
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons olive oil
Melted butter, to grease
Fresh basil leaves, to serve
Preparation
Preheat the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the tomato, cut-side down. Reduce the heat to low and cook for almost 20 minutes until soft. At 428 degrees F, preheat the oven. Brush and grease a round cake pan with melted butter. Arrange tomato, cut-side down, over the base of the pan. Top with pastry and fold back the excess. Bake for 15 minutes until golden. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool. Turn onto a serving plate. Combine the vinegar and oil. Drizzle over the tart. Season with salt and black pepper. Top with basil.
