A few moments after, Aaron sucked in deep breaths as he was licking the wound that he inflicted upon Astrid. Then, he kissed the spot.
“Gods, I’ve always known you would taste so good, dragul meu,” he whispered as Aaron licked his lips as there was the residue of her blood there.
Astrid stared at his mouth before she leaned over and licked to taste her blood. It was the same, still tangy and a little coppery. She arched her eyebrow.
“You have always imagined that you will take my blood, min kjærlighet? I wonder what makes my blood taste better than others. All I ever tasted was the same taste of any blood if I have a wound or my teeth fall out,” Astrid asked him nonchalantly. She was putting herself back together after the erotic pleasure that she shared with Aaron.
However, the bloody man was smirking as if he was satisfied with his conquest. Astrid pouted. Aaron laughed at her reaction when he tucked her hair behind her ear.
“I have always been, dragul meu, ever since the first time I saw you in that café in Sicily. You know I’ve always had the hots for you,” he teased with his velvety, smooth voice that made any woman blush—especially Astrid.
She cleared her throat, trying to look disinterested when she looked at Aaron. The bloody Pure Blood male was grinning like a Cheshire cat that finally got his milk.
Damn him!
Astrid was looking at the dungeon prison where the Order kept Aaron Covaci who was seen as a threat. However, after what she shared with him, Astrid could never look at him with hatred anymore.
Ever since their first meeting in Sicily, Astrid would never have guessed that she would be moving to the other side of the Order of the Holy.
It was something scandalous when the Huntress of the Order was aligning herself with the enemy.
Not that she cared anyway.
“What are you thinking, dragul meu? You have this constipated look on your face. Perhaps a penny for your thought?” Aaron asked with a smirk. He was caressing her waist when Astrid glared at him. Then, she rolled her eyes.
“Can we not pretend like you don’t just read my mind just now, min kjærlighet? I’m still getting used to the idea that I am fighting on your side now,” Astrid grumbled underneath her breaths as Aaron chuckled. He shook his head.
“No can do, dragul meu. I can’t do that, not after what we shared. You’re too cute for me to give up on playing some pranks on you, dragul meu,” he teased. His hot breaths were brushing against her strands at the temple as Astrid blushed. Blood pumped to her cheeks even more when Aaron kissed the inside of her earlobe.
Astrid looked at him with strange emotions in her violet eyes. They stared at each other. Then, she saw it. Astrid saw the adoration which flared out like the blazes inside Aaron’s green eyes.
Afterward, she undid the chains at his legs, bending her back to release him.
Aaron furrowed his brows but his hands were caressing her buttocks.
“What are you doing, dragul meu?” he asked nonchalantly. The chains dropped to the floor as Astrid straightened her back. She dusted her hands and smiled at Aaron.
“We’re busting out of here, min kjærlighet. It’s time for us to take a stand against the deceiver,” she said with venom in her voice as Astrid looked at him.
Aaron blinked his eyes as he caressed her buttocks. Then, his eyebrows shot up until they might disappear into the hairline. Perhaps, he was too shocked to believe the words that came out of Astrid’s mouth.
“Wait, do you mean to—”
“Yes, min kjærlighet. Will you keep up with the program, please? Knowing that the Order of the Holy is ruled by a deceiver, I want to expose that lying, conniving bastard to the Known World. Wait, who was it again? What was his name again?” Astrid asked as she tapped her chin to recall the deceiver’s name.
She did not even remember his real name even when Aaron called His Holiness’s given name when they conversed earlier. It’s just that... Astrid had been calling him by his title to even really care about His Holiness’s Christian name.
Not that he was holy or anything. Just a twisted man with a taste for vengeance against the Order of the Holy, Astrid mused as she gripped her hands into fists.
Aaron pulled her fists into his hands and intertwined their fingers. Astrid looked at their hands before she stared at his face. Aaron kissed her temple as she closed her eyes.
“I’m glad that you don’t care about his given name, dragul meu. But one must get to know their enemy to bring them down. His name is Lucius De Ville. He is my...cousin from my mother’s side,” Aaron stated nonchalantly as he was rubbing her knuckles.
Then, he bent down to rub his ankles which might have been stiff ever since he got chained up against the wall.
Astrid knew how hard those chains could be when she was once held in them.
Well, for the disciplinary reason by the Order of the Holy, of course.
“So, what shall we do then, min kjærlighet? I don’t think I ever went against the higher power before, especially His Holiness,” Astrid said as she looked at Aaron. He scowled when he pulled her closer. No inches separated them anymore as she gasped and gripped his shoulders.
“Don’t you ever call him that title again, dragul meu? His name is Lucius and he’s not your Master anymore,” Aaron hissed as his eyes turned black again.
Astrid purred as she was caressing his chest. She tilted her face upwards. Their hot breaths mingled as she licked his lower lip. Aaron growled with the gesture.
“I love it when you’re jealous, min kjærlighet. It’s not every day I have a male get possessive over me,” she whispered huskily. Then, she yelped when Aaron gripped her buttocks.
“Wait until we get out of this hellhole, dragul meu. Then, I show you what I have in store for you,” Aaron replied before smacking their lips together.
Then, he moved forward, pulling Astrid by the hand. He looked at the entrance of the dungeon prison. The Order’s Knights were knocked out and dropped to the floor.
Aaron arched his eyebrow at Astrid. She shrugged nonchalantly as if saying what do you want me to do when I come here to save you?
He chuckled softly before his face hardened when they walked up the stairs to get away from there.
Suddenly, a chill crawled upon their spines a dark chuckle echoed through the dungeon.
“Hmm... it would seem that you’re able to convince her after all, cousin. But then again, you always have your ways with the lady,” Lucius’s voice echoed through the empty walls.
Aaron and Astrid stopped in their tracks. They straightened their backs as flocks of white robes greeted them at the top of the stairs. Lucius smiled as he locked his black eyes upon Astrid.
“And you don’t have to do anything, Huntress, since I’ll be the one that brings pain to your footstep,” Lucius said maliciously before thrusting his hand forward to deliver what he promised.
