Chapter 20

image

Astrid was not expecting the pine forest of Lacul Rosu to be this...foggy. Foggy and chilly to the core. However, she barely remembered it being this chilly and foggy.

It was nice and cozy for her when Aaron was pulling Astrid closer to his side. She thought it was a cute gesture when he was trying to warm her up despite that he did not feel anything right now.

Blue Blood—especially Pure Blood—barely feels anything difference in their surroundings when they can regulate their body temperature according to their surroundings.

They were walking through the foggy, chilly pine forest for them arrived at their final destination. Aaron led the way as he was familiar with Lacul Rosu more than Astrid could be.

How can she when she was busy saving her ass everything she was sent across the world by the Order to eliminate their chosen target?

Astrid chilled at the thought.

“So, where are we going through this fog, min kjærlighet?” she asked Aaron. Her head was tilting this way and that way as her eardrums were picking up the cacophony of sounds throughout the forest.

I hope there is nothing dangerous hereIf not, well, I have the apex predator by my side, she mused as Aaron was smirking. His green eyes were glittering like a Cheshire cat as if he could hear her thoughts.

Perhaps, he was.

Astrid blushed before clearing her throat. She would ignore that fact for she was relieved to see that Aaron was on his feet again. After the bloodletting that she gave to him last night, he was recovering rather well.

Perhaps, his Craving Virus level was higher than she assumed for a normal Blue Blood to have. Thus, that was why he recovered much quicker than any Blue Blood that she had faced beforehand.

However, the images that were inside my brain since last night had not been removed completely, much to my chagrin, she mused when Astrid remembered what happened during the last bloodletting.

Aaron was kissing her throat before he punched his fangs through her skin. Astrid was lying on the ground with Aaron on top of her, grinding his erection in earnest as she responded in kind. She blushed at the thought as Astrid looked at Aaron underneath her lashes.

She knew something had shifted between them from that moment on.

His legs were in between her legs as he was pushing them to spread wide before him. Aaron settled himself in the vee of her thighs.

Astrid was moaning in erotic pleasure. She gripped his hair when he loomed over her in a position that was known as a missionary when a man and a female were copulating with each other.

She shivered when Astrid remembered his hand was kneading her breast and she moaned for his assault even more.

Preferably, his skin against her skin.

Her imagination was shattered when Aaron was caressing her buttocks with his right hand. He kissed her temple as he whispered against it.

“What are you thinking about, dragul meu, that you blush all over?” Aaron asked huskily as Astrid looked at him. His lips were curling with a smirk like a Cheshire cat. She stared at his lips. Then, she smiled as Astrid looked into his green eyes.

“Nothing of important, min kjærlighet. I’m just trying to figure out how to get out of this fucking forest until we can reach—”

“Okay, I see where we are now,” Aaron cut her off. Astrid grunted as she glared at the bloody male beside her.

Aaron winked. Then, he took her hand by the hand into a small trail that Astrid could make out between the pines.

A moment later, they were standing in front of the house that had seen better days. Astrid arched her eyebrow as she looked at Aaron’s face.

“So... this is your plan? Hiding in a stupid house that had seen better days?” she asked with her hands on her hips. She turned her body fully upon Aaron.

“Are you insane? We have to find something that needs to protect us from the Order if they decide to come after us. Come after me,” she added, stepping closer.

Being the bloody male that he was, Aaron only smirked at her questions. Astrid hated it when he did that, dismissing those questions that were not important.

According to him, anyway.

However, the killer smirk looked good on his lips as well. Hence, Astrid was conflicted about the whole situation but she followed Aaron to go inside the shambles of a house anyway.
