A semi-fitted, round neck cardigan, knitted in K1, P1 rib, stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch. The back has a rib with a side vent, and is worked in stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch. The right front has a shaped rib and a reverse stocking stitch yoke. The left front is longer and worked in rib and stocking stitch. One sleeve is reverse stocking stitch and the other is in stocking stitch.

FINISH

Join both shoulders using the three-needle cast-off method with WS of work tog so that the seam is on the outside of your work.

NECKBAND

With RS of work facing and 3.25mm needles, rib 12 sts from right front holder, pick up and K 31(33:35:37) sts up right front neck, 11 sts down right back neck, 30(32:32:32) sts from centre back holder, 12 sts up left back neck, 31(33:35:37) sts down left front neck and rib 12 sts from left front holder. 139(145:149:153) sts. Starting with a WS row, work 10 rows in K1, P1 rib as set by left front, working a buttonhole on the left front band on row 6. Cast off in rib.

Weave in any ends on the WS of the work. Choose a flat padded surface or blocking board, pin work out to measurements with WS facing. Cover with a damp cloth and gently steam, avoiding ribbing. Leave to dry flat.

Sew in sleeves, making sure that the right sleeve is sewn in as Rev St st.

Join sleeve and side seams, matching the markers on the right front and back and leaving the seam open below the markers.

Sew on buttons at markers.
