A sleeveless sweater, perfect for layering. It’s a very easy knit using ‘stash’ yarns, plying them together as necessary to create super chunky weights – the wraps per inch (WPI) technique is perfect for this. Knitted in two pieces, the back is cast on with a contrast colour and continued in K1, P1 rib and then worked in stocking stitch with an extended armhole and short-row shaping for the shoulders. The weathered wooden planking of doors and fencing, and glimpses of colour through the gaps, inspire the front of this piece – this is interpreted as varying width stripes and bands of broken rib stitch, and jarred and blurred lines where colour stripes are introduced. The simple round neck and arm cuffs are picked up and knitted in K1, P1 rib.
