Epilogue

“THIS IS the last one,” Luke announced, coming through the door with yet another large box.

When they’d decided to move in together, Nelson had no clue Luke would have so much stuff. They’d been unpacking the moving truck for hours. The garage as well as the living room were chock-full of boxes. Unpacking was going to be a bitch. Nelson had no idea where the hell they were going to put everything. He swiped his hand over his sweaty brow. “We’re going to need a bigger house.”

Luke set the box down next to the door—the last spot of floor space left—then bumped his shoulder against Nelson’s. “It’s not as much stuff as it looks. Half of it is Bubble Wrap and Styrofoam. Think we can make it to the kitchen? I’m dying of thirst.”

“It will be tough, but I do like a challenge.”

They made their way through the maze of boxes, and Nelson was right: it was a hell of a challenge. It wasn’t the boxes so much that made it difficult but the fact Luke kept grabbing his ass or his belt loop and jerking him back to give him a kiss. By the time they made it to the kitchen, Nelson was laughing, and his dick was hard. A very good state to be in—happy and horny.

He got them both a glass of ice water. He handed one to Luke, then clinked his against it. “Here’s to finally getting the truck unloaded.”

“Here, here.”

Nelson downed his water and refilled his glass. He turned and leaned against the counter. “Nellie is really okay with this?”

“Hell yeah. She loves the idea that I’ll be so close to her. She’s been making a lot of new friends in Chicago but likes that Dad isn’t too far away.”

“I meant about us.”

Luke cocked his head. “I’m not following.”

“I know you told me she’s never had an issue with your sexuality, but it’s one thing knowing your dad is bisexual, but a whole different animal when he moves in with another man.”

Luke set his glass down and wrapped his arms around Nelson. “Trust me, she’s okay with it. She’s happy that I’m happy, but you know what?”

Nelson slid his fingers in the loops on the waistband of Luke’s jeans and pulled him closer still, wiggling a bit, enjoying the feel of Luke’s body against his. “What?”

Luke groaned and took Nelson’s mouth in an all-consuming kiss that curled Nelson’s toes and left him breathing harshly when it ended. “What were we talking about again?”

“I was asking you a question, I think,” Luke chuckled.

“Was it an important one?” Nelson rutted a little. They’d been working hard all day. He’d been watching all those flexing muscles, the sweat, the bending, the tight ass on display each time Luke set a box down. They deserved a little reward for all their hard work. He rutted a little harder.

Luke grabbed Nelson’s hips and stilled his movements, a serious expression on his face. “Yeah, it was. I was saying that Nellie is happy for me, but even if she was opposed to me living with you, I’d still do it. She’s grown, working on her future. It’s only fair that I work on mine. I’ve spent my life trying to make other people happy, and it’s beyond time that you and I are the priority.” Luke moved his right hand up and laid it against Nelson’s cheek. “I have loved you my entire life, and I want to spend the rest of it showing you just how much.”

Tears welled in Nelson’s eyes, but he blinked them away. He’d dreamed of spending his life with Luke, and it was coming true. Did he completely trust Luke not to hurt him? Mostly. But each day his conviction and belief in Luke was getting stronger. It wouldn’t be easy; nothing worth having was. But they had each other, they had today, and they loved each other. They had a shot. “I think I could handle that,” Nelson finally said past the lump in his throat.

Luke smiled and leaned in like he was about to kiss Nelson, but Nelson pressed his hand against Luke’s chest, stopping him. “Not so fast, Mister. Remember when I promised to kick your ass if you ever left me again?”

“Yeah.”

“I meant it.”
