In the heart of the Angermannian forests, trees with deciduous leaves, Befula alba
and the hoary-leaved Betula alnus var. incana, abound equally with Pinus sylvestris and
P. abies, while among the humble shrubs the Erica and the Vaccinium myrtillus alternately
predominate. The woods also abound with matted branches of the birch, I know not
from what cause. Take note. And if time will allow it, make a detailed sketch.
The end of travel must be to depict nature more accurately than anyone else.
