About the Author

––––––––

Living in a small village in Lancashire, England, the author has written his fourth book, Surreal Peter. In the 1990s, the author had twenty-one articles published, both nationally and internationally. After gaining an honours degree in Geosciences, doing post-graduate study in Occupational Health and Fitness, and earning a masters degree in Science Communication, he developed an interest for simple communication. A passion for writing again emerged, and combining various interests in fine art, museum exhibition display, biology, geology, poetry, and the mystical led to the story of Peter: A Darkened Fairytale. The author still retains a childlike vision of the world, which is conveyed throughout his books.

Surreal Peter

~

William O’Brien

––––––––

Haha ... strange boy

Would you like a journey?

Watch the toys

Tread the beams

Do you want to fly?

Trip to the scene

I am in your head

And I shall never leave

––––––––

Seebright holds

Lift controls

Plunging all the way

Once the moon

Did the task

Mr Bird on this strange day

Dropping through

Lands of dreams

Feel the lift-room sway

Falling out

On a bench

What's in store today?

––––––––

Golden flakes

Fairy dust

Bouncing fungi

Wizard's trust

Take a step

Into the cave

Spying evil

Dragon gazed

Crashing down

Colours fused

Spreading wings

Forest glades

––––––––

Path that knows

Talks so true

Blessed with

Knowledge

Guide for you

Walk now forward

Feel the signs

Magical cave

Camouflage

Divine

––––––––

Boyle with his flashing blade

Bald and shiny head

Enter come and have a shave

I think my fingers bled

Opening the barber's skull

Passing lands of snakes

Climb in now and elevate

Quick while Boyle shakes

––––––––

Creeping winters blow

Looking for young

And old

Turning fallen branches

On trolls

To suffer

Serpent creatures crawl

Slither past

Touching me

––––––––

Wooden box

Of many trips

Creaking secrets

Head's in bits

Rogues abound

Trippy ride

Drawer hidden

Get inside

––––––––

Some will live

Others pass

Voices heard

Sacred mass

Just the way

Cloaked witch sees

Licking toads

Taking seeds

Mushrooms red

White the spots

Flavoured soup

Warm iron pot

––––––––

Mind unfolds

Throughout the box

Inside trials

Many locks

Splitting yourself

Eating beetles

Concealed elf

Mouse that twiddles

––––––––

Hello my child

Taste the charm

Open wide

Could never harm

Delicate pain

Writhing makes

Gnaws insides

Absinthe takes

Still a gleam

Light shines through

Fairies games

Brought to you

––––––––

Fate is turning

Doors now switch

Trapped in darkness

Evil's wish

––––––––

In the shadowed

Light of dark they move

Lifting the sheet

Stealing my breath

Getting into bed

Next to me

––––––––

Lost in time

Alone without

Testing patience

A gift no doubt

Axe-wielding warrior

Strength no match

Slicing floors

Dragon's ash

––––––––

You know well

Sense the time

Elgardol waits

Bringing feelings ill

In a casket black

––––––––

Come my friend

Take the stick

Laugh, cry

Shake and play

Such fun

We will have

Together

Walking with death

––––––––

A devil says

It will never do

Sit a while

Take the weight

Off your feet

Now rest

While I dance

With the dying

Tugging at your veins

Desiring you

Next to me

––––––––

Dragon soars

Surreal skies

Watching over

Protect owls wise

Enemies sway

Unsure to sin

Kiylore's strength

Always wins

––––––––

Clicking doors

Inside the box

Some in your mind

Check the locks

––––––––

Growing rabbit

Bleeding skin

Need a carrot

Where to begin

Watch a beast

Swimming below

Fire blasts

Cirinian's bolt

––––––––

Contorted thoughts

Placed in your mind

Nestled from birth

And the air around

Haunting demons

Pace the halls

Whisper to you

Climb the walls

––––––––

Hold and glide

You are now taken

Never let go

Learning given

Fire of dragon

Purging the world

Cleanses the palette

Holds new birth

––––––––

Some will die

Others will thrive

Do remember

All souls survive

––––––––

Eyes desire

Body wanders

Wanting, yearning

Soul distraught

Thoughts adrift

Needing, bleeding

Saunters

––––––––

Bathe amid

Coloured light

Feast on rainbows

In daylight

Takes away

Depth of night

All the hurt

Demons slide

Travel home

Safe again

––––––––

Lunar-tick

Lunatic

The moon

The clock

The man

––––––––

Cracking mouse

Spine disturbed

Coughs and splutters

What's to learn?

Many thoughts

Are in the head

Tread carefully

Or wind up dead

––––––––

You know

You wish

Listen to the polar bear

With the floating fish

Thank you for taking the time to read some of the fantastical adventures from the ‘Peter’ book series.

Reviews are really important to help an author progress and for readers to find books they would like to read.

If you enjoyed your magical travels – please leave a short review.

Books can be read in any order as standalone units. However, the story does travel better in the written chronological order.

Many thanks
