Oh, Lily. You should have seen her face. She was so disappointed. We did the last puzzle and . . . nothing.
The thing is, even if we didn’t find anything . . . it was fun. I really had fun with Claudia. And watching those videos, yeah, sure it’s been painful. But, oh gosh, I wish I had taken more. I can’t get enough of them. And that was all Claudia too. I would have dumped them in the trash without her.
I know Claudia thought following these clues would help her find her father again. But remembering all those things, all those nice memories—her watching the videos and learning all those new things about him—it’s kind of like we already did.
I hope I can help her see that. I’m too tired to try now. All that driving and walking. Can’t keep up with a couple of twelve-year-olds. But maybe tomorrow. I miss you.
