Sally McGuire

Joann S. Grohman has been farming and gardening organically since 1950. She and her family have six decades of experience raising poultry, goats, and both dairy and beef cattle in the United States and in England, where she and her husband, Merril, once owned and operated a 120-cow Jersey dairy in Sussex. In addition to Keeping a Family Cow, she is the author of Born to Love: Instinct and Natural Mothering (1976) and Real Food (1990). She lives and farms in western Maine.

About the Foreword Author

Jack Lazor is co-owner of Butterworks Farm in Westfield, Vermont, with his wife, Anne, and cofounder of the Northern Grain Grower’s Association. Lazor grows grains both for human consumption and for feed for their herd of Jersey cows.
