Value Proposition – Ideation Exercise #3
Simon Sinek gives a great TED Talk on how great leaders inspire action. Watch Sinek’s talk at https://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek . Sinek is a master of understanding value and what it means to the end-user. As you watch the video, consider your value.
Now that you are on the road to innovation, you are going to need to share the message out about that innovation.  In other words, you are going to have to tell other people, the end-user, about the value of your innovation.  Sinek’s talks about starting with why .  One way to think about the “why ” of your innovation is to start to compose several belief statements.  Once you have your beliefs statements written down, you can step back and craft a statement about the value of your innovation.  We call this the value proposition .
In the following exercise, consider your beliefs in regard to your innovation. Refer to Sinek’s association with beliefs. What do you believe about your innovation and the people who will use it?
