And Lot lived in a cave, with his two daughters.
And the elder one said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there are no men left on earth to sleep with us. Let’s get him drunk with wine and sleep with him, so that life can be preserved through our father.” And they got their father drunk that night. And the elder one went in and slept with her father, and he was not aware of when she lay down or of when she got up.
And the next day the elder one said to the younger, “Last night I slept with our father. Let’s get him drunk again tonight, then you go in and sleep with him, so that life can be preserved through our father.” And they got their father drunk that night as well. And the younger one went in and slept with her father, and he was not aware of when she lay down or of when she got up.
Thus both Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father. And the elder one gave birth to a son and named him Moab, From Father; he is the ancestor of the Moabites of today. And the younger one also gave birth to a son and named him Ben-ammi, Son of My Kinsman; he is the ancestor of the Ammonites of today.
