Born and raised in Pū‘ahu‘ula, Kāne‘ohe, Kapulani Landgraf received her BA in anthropology from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and her MFA in photography from Vermont College. Landgraf’s books Nā Wahi Pana o Ko‘olau Poko and Nā Wahi Kapu o Maui gained Ka Palapala Po‘okela Awards for Excellence in Illustrative Books in 1995 and 2004. She currently teaches photography and Hawaiian visual art and design at Kapi‘olani Community College, Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
