Bricks and Mortar

Ive been working on a set of reclaimed bricks. They are halved, broken and covered in mortar. The condition of the bricks makes them unusable. The work to clean them is painstaking at times. I have to use a hammer and a chisel. My reward if I do not give up: a set of clean, re-purposed bricks to use for projects around the yard. The same can be said about my heart. Before I gave Jesus all of me, my sins, sorrows, regrets, bitterness, rejections, and too many more things to list, I was exactly like these bricks - a heart covered in stone and unusable. But when I allowed Jesus to come in and make my heart his home, and gave him access to all the inner places, he cleansed me of all my unrighteousness and began a work in me to produce a vessel re-purposed for the Kingdom of God.

Think you are just too far gone for God to ever be able to use you? When we receive a load of bricks, what we have found is that the bricks that are broken, either in half or even less than half a brick, these are the ones that are actually the most valuable. They are able to be used in places that no other bricks will fit. Amazing! Just what God had in mind with you and I - re-purposing lives, even broken ones for his Kingdom and his Glory. God is waiting for you to answer his call. Dont delay.

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
