Reflection is defined as consideration of some subject matter, idea or purpose. I spent the last two days reading through my personal journal. As I scanned the pages of this book, one thing became very clear to me: in the midst of pouring out my sorrows, anguish, joy, happiness and desires, I saw evidence that God had heard me and worked things out. Throughout this book I found entry after entry that scanned eight years testifying to the fact that even those times when life seemed upside down and never capable of turning right side again, God had worked things out for my good. So often when life is hard, I’m prone to doubt that God is listening and working whatever problem I’m going through in my favor. I know He loves me, but I’ve often wondered does He hear me. Upon reflection, I came to the realization that the last eight years chronicled in my journal, were meant to dispel any doubts that still lingered. I could do nothing but weep and marvel at the God of the universe who has never stopped looking down on me. Written in ink and stained with tears, were page after page of the faithfulness of God’s promises to hear me when I pray, draw near to me when I seek him, and work all things(good and bad) for my good.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15).
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8a NKJV).
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Trust God with your days, good or bad. And then stand back and watch in absolute amazement as he not only hears your prayers, but works things out in your life in ways you never imagined.
