OPEN YOUR HEART WITH YOGA’S FISH POSE

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women, causing more than a quarter of the deaths in the United States each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Is there a link between coronary disease and feelings of lovelessness? Holistic healers say yes.

Prepare for Fish Pose by lying on your back with your legs out straight. Slide your hands under your buttocks. Tighten your abdominal muscles and raise your chest, supporting yourself on your forearms and buttocks. Arch your spine and chest; press the back of your head to the floor. Feel your heart chakra and chest opening as you take several breaths. Lower your torso again to the floor and relax. Along with balancing your heart chakra, Fish Pose boosts oxygen and promotes better blood flow for a healthy, loving heart.
