SING

Your voice is a wonderful gift. With it, you communicate with those around you, deepening bonds and expressing your own thoughts and feelings. It also gives you the ability to say it in song.

Singing can heal, whether you sing in the shower, the church choir, or on karaoke night. Singing eases stress, reduces blood pressure, and slows heart rate. A three-year study at the Levine School of Music in Washington, DC, found that seniors who sang in a chorus had fewer doctors’ visits, experienced less depression, and needed less medication. A study at Goethe University in Germany showed that singing improved immunity. Pick a favorite song and start singing!
