(Margaritas de Fresa)
For a fruity party drink, nothing beats a blended margarita. Fresh strawberries make a wonderful treat, but feel free to experiment with mangoes, papayas, raspberries, or even blueberries.
2 cups ice cubes
8 to 10 fresh strawberries, hulled, plus more for garnish
4 ounces tequila
1½ ounces triple sec
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
Coarse sugar for rimming
Lime slices for garnish (optional)
Combine the ice, strawberries, tequila, triple sec, and lime juice in a blender and process until all of the ice chunks have been blended.
Pour into glasses rimmed with coarse sugar (see Note, Margarita On The Rocks) and garnish with fresh strawberries or lime slices, if you’d like.
VARIATION: To make a virgin version, omit the tequila and triple sec and add a bit more lime juice.
