Aquila and Priscilla

Acts 18; Romans 16; 1 Corinthians 16

When Paul came to the city of Corinth, he met Aquila and his wife, Priscilla—believers who earned money by making tents. Paul also made tents, so he stayed with Aquila and Priscilla in their house and worked with them.

Aquila and Priscilla served Jesus together. They served Jesus by helping Paul. They sailed with him to Ephesus. Aquila and Priscilla settled there, but Paul continued on his journey. Later Paul came back to visit. He was glad to see his friends again and all the believers who met in their house for church.

Aquila and Priscilla served Jesus by being kind. Instead of embarrassing a man named Apollos by correcting him in front of others, they waited to speak with him alone. “Let us tell you more about Jesus’ teaching,” they said. Apollos was happy to learn from such kind friends.

Aquila and Priscilla kept serving Jesus when they moved to Rome. They used their house as a meeting place for the church there too. “Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,” Paul wrote to the church in Rome. “They helped me so much, and all the churches here are thankful.”
