Every book is a unique journey. For this special Christmas story, I had the chance to return to Chestnut Ridge, and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing readers’ stories and suggestions while researching this one.
Huge thanks to Eileen Rothschild and Lisa Bonvissuto. I’m so grateful for the continued stories we bring to life together, and to the entire St. Martin’s Griffin team, for helping get them into the readers’ hands.
To my agent, Steve Laube, for being my safe harbor no matter what the tides bring in.
Most importantly, to my dear friend Pam, who helped manage my move in the middle of this book, giving me the time to create and finish it on deadline. Who knew I’d sell my house in just twelve days and then move within thirty? None of this would have happened without her help and kindness.
And to friends who gave me that calming “you’ve got this” when there were so many book signings, edits, deadlines, and things going on that I wasn’t quite sure which way was up. Thank you. I needed that!
And to my neighbors in Patrick Springs, Virginia, I’m thankful and grateful for your kindness and sense of community so much that it inspired the town of Chestnut Ridge. I treasure the friendships we’ve made and hope to pay it forward with the books in this series.
