Born only one year after Vittorio, Bartola di Raniari is his beloved younger sister and the middle child between him and her three-year-younger brother, Matteo. After their father, Lorenzo di Raniari, denies the vampire Florian’s proposal, the coven of the Court of the Ruby Grail attacks their home. Bartola and Matteo are initially captured by Ursula, but temporarily saved by Vittorio, who severs her arm. Only moments later, another vampire takes hold of both Bartola and Matteo and beheads them. The last thing Bartola sees is her older brother, Vittorio, swearing vengeance.
