Blackwood Manor is the house built by Manfred Blackwood in the seventeenth century on his lush Louisiana property, Blackwood Farm, in Sugar Devil Swamp. Over the past several centuries, Blackwood Manor has served as a hotel for many guests. Several generations of the Blackwoods even live in Blackwood Manor’s numerous rooms. Most of the family members die in Blackwood Manor, and when their souls cannot rest in the family crypt, their ghosts can be seen by family and guests roaming the halls and rummaging through bedrooms. For instance, the ghost of Manfred’s son, William, can be seen in his old bedroom, while the ghost of Manfred’s daughter, Camille, can be seen tiptoeing up the stairs to the attic. In the twentieth century, Quinn Blackwood inherits Blackwood Farm and Blackwood Manor, which Lestat visits and finds enjoyable.
Blackwood Manor appears in Blackwood Farm (2002). For more perspectives on Blackwood Manor, read the Alphabettery entries Blackwood Farm, Camille Blackwood, Lestat de Lioncourt, Manfred Blackwood, Quinn Blackwood, Sugar Devil Swamp, and William Blackwood.
