Divine Pair

• HONORIFIC •

Because the first vampires, Akasha and Enkil, establish themselves as leaders of a blood cult religion, donning the identities of Isis and Osiris, they also gain for themselves honorifics and are often called “divine” by their subjects and devotees. The word is used in numerous descriptors, such as “Divine Parents” or “Divine Couple.” The vampire Marius, who cares for Akasha and Enkil, often calls them the Divine Pair, particularly when he is moving them from one shrine to another.

The honorific appears in Blood and Gold (2001). For more perspectives on the Divine Pair in the Vampire Chronicles, read the Alphabettery entries Akasha, Enkil, Isis, Lestat de Lioncourt, Marius, Osiris, and Those Who Must Be Kept.
