Elath is one of the Taltos who live on Secret Isle, the island owned by the Taltos Ashlar, husband of Morrigan Mayfair, the daughter of Mona Mayfair, the fledgling of Lestat. Elath loves the jungles of the Secret Isle and can often be found there with the other Taltos, Releth. After Silas’s rebellion coerces mortal drug dealers to attack the island, the only male Taltos kept alive are Elath, Hiram, and Oberon. Elath sees an opportunity to escape and kills one of the Drug Merchants, but he is shot dead soon after by the Drug Merchant’s companions.
