Fontevrault Plantation

• SANCTUARY •

When Julien and Augustin Mayfair’s feud ends with Augustin’s tragic death, the Mayfair family divides. Julien remains the manager of the Riverbend plantation, while other members buy a large piece of property and begin a new Mayfair plantation, naming it Fontevrault.

The family that founds the Fontevrault plantation also builds the house on Amelia Street, the childhood home of Mona Mayfair, who eventually becomes the fledgling of Lestat.

By the twentieth century, Fontevrault plantation has fallen into ruins and is cared for by Mary Jane Mayfair and her grandmother Dolly Jean. When Mona’s daughter, Morrigan, becomes the Designée of the Mayfair Legacy, she assigns funds from the vast wealth of the Mayfair family to help Mary Jane restore Fontevrault.

Fontevrault plantation is referenced in Blood Canticle (2003).
