During his mortal life, while Lestat performs as an actor at Renaud’s House of Thesbians, one of the actresses who performs with him onstage is Jeannette. Lestat fights with her and Luchina most, and loves both of them more than all the other actresses. After he becomes a vampire and receives Magnus’s vast wealth, he bestows gifts upon Jeannette. His vampire cravings find their beauty and their blood almost irresistible, and he nearly reveals his vampire nature onstage. Humiliated by his behavior, he closes the theater and sends Jeannette along with the entire acting troupe to London, where they perform in a new theater.
Jeannette appears in The Vampire Lestat (1985). For more perspectives on her character, read the Alphabettery entries Lestat de Lioncourt, Luchina, Magnus, and Renaud’s House of Thesbians.
