Lionel Potter

• ALIAS •

“Lionel Potter” is one of Lestat’s aliases when he stays in Paris. After Lestat switches bodies with Raglan James, the Body Thief, he has one of his mortal agents in Paris wire thirty thousand dollars to an agency under his Lionel Potter name. When he arrives at the agency, he has a new credit card with the name Lionel Potter as well as a wallet full of traveler’s checks.

“Lionel Potter” is a reference to Lionel Barrymore playing the villain Mr. Potter in the 1946 movie It’s a Wonderful Life.

The “Lionel Potter” alias appears in The Tale of the Body Thief (1992). For more perspectives on this alias in the Vampire Chronicles, read the Alphabettery entries David Talbot, Lestat de Lioncourt, and Raglan James.
