Tommy is the son of Terry Sue and Quinn’s grandfather Pops, who was unfaithful to his wife, Sweetheart. Since Pops’s real name is Thomas Blackwood, Tommy is named after him. Pops cares for Tommy by giving Terry Sue an envelope of five hundred dollars a week, which keeps him in Saint Joseph’s Catholic School in Mapleville. Although he is technically Quinn’s uncle, Tommy is a boy when Quinn is in his twenties. Because Tommy demonstrates remarkable intelligence at a young age, he is eventually sent to a boarding school in England, but in time he returns to live at Blackwood Manor.
Tommy appears in Blackwood Farm (2002). For more perspectives on Tommy’s character, read the Alphabettery entries Aunt Queen, Blackwood Manor, Pops, Quinn Blackwood, Sweetheart, and Terry Sue Harrison.
