After a filling breakfast and some pleasant conversation with Paige's parents, Paige drove Natalie home. Natalie hesitated in the car, both of them looking a little sad that they had to separate for now, trying to make their time together linger for just a little longer. They embraced lovingly for a moment then shared a lingering glance.
“Thank you,” Natalie finally said. “Thank you for a wonderful night, and for sharing your secrets with me, and for letting me share my secrets with you. And most of all...for making me feel that I'm not alone.”
Paige smiled broadly at her. “Well, you'll never be alone any more. I promise.”
Natalie tilted her head and jutted her lower lip out, almost looking like she was about to cry before they embraced again.
“Natalie,” Paige called out as Natalie opened the door and was about to step out. “I love you.”
Natalie's face softened, her eyes shining bright as she smiled. “I love you too.”
Natalie leaned in and they kissed deeply once more before Natalie stepped out and walked toward her back door. Paige waited until Natalie disappeared inside before backing out of the drive and heading home, her mind swimming in delicious possibilities.
