SOPHIA RAN back to their homes being built, found Kanani and stared at her. She jumped on Sophia and gave her tons of kisses.

“I know what you’ve been doing,” Sophia told her.

All Sophia heard was woof, but Kanani was really saying. What do you mean? I’m a good girl.  She cocked her head looking at Sophia like a little innocent dog.

“Hmm, let’s get my sister if she’s still here, go back to camp and start dinner. I need to find Lamorak,” Sophia told her.

She looked around; Jennie had already gone back to camp so Kanani and Sophie decided to see what had been done that day. The homes were almost complete. She was getting so excited!

They got back to the camp and everyone wanted to know where they had been. So, sitting around the table at dinner that evening she confided in her sister, Leila, Richard, Susan, Kimo, and Lamorak, who had made it back from working with King Arthur that day.

“Did you know anything about this Lamorak?” she asked him

Yes, I knew King Arthur had saved a dragon, but never had a clue he was in the bottom part of the castle! It doesn’t seem like a good place to live for a dragon, does it?” He asked looking at her with a questionable expression.

“No, it doesn’t, and he said that there were more that needed saving, which we know already.” she replied quickly.

“Yes, well I will speak to Merlin tomorrow. Are you and Kanani up for a quest, Sophie?” He asked her.

She looked at him with shock, “What kind of quest?” she asked him with suspicion. “The kind where we take Gunther and go find his relatives, then bring them back here. There are caves back behind where you’re building your homes. We could make a nice place for them back there and then they could help keep a watch over Camelot!” he exclaimed.

“Well, that’s a grand plan, let me think about it tonight and let’s see what Merlin has cooked up before we decide, ok?” she answered.

“Ok, sounds logical,” he said.

“I want to go too!” Piped in Leila.

“Oh no you won’t do that!” Said Jennie to her daughter.

“Mommmm, pleassssseeeee?” Pleaded Leila.

Before Jennie could answer Sophie said, “Leila, let’s see what the plans are and not worry about it tonight, deal?”

“Ok, but you had better not leave me behind.” she grumbled.

Susan just laughed as she got up to clean the dishes.

Sophia got up, gave Leila a hug and helped Susan; then they joined the others by the campfire singing their evening away.

The next morning, Jennie, Leila, Susan, Kimo and Yglais left to go check on the progress of the builders. Richard, Lamorak and Sophia met with Merlin in his house. Then they had a meeting with King Arthur and it was decided that a quest was to begin. They would leave as soon as they could get everything together. Sir Lamorak, Sir Perceval, Sir Accalon, Sir Degore, Sir Alymere, Sir Bedivere, Sir Lancelot, Merlin, Kanani, and Sophia would be in the party. Gunther was consulted, and he was getting very excited about being with them. They drew up a plan that if they were attacked, Kanani and Sophia were to get on Gunther and he would take them to safety.

At dinner that night Sophia was so thrilled she could hardly eat. Lamorak and Sophia had filled the others in on their meetings that day. Leila wanted to go so badly, but her mother and Sophie told her it was far too dangerous, and she needed to remain at home. Sophie assured her that she would have plenty of dragons to play with if they were successful. That satisfied her somewhat. Sophie was worried about taking Kanani, but there was no way she would stay here without her. She knew she would try and find her and that would be far more dangerous for her. Sophia debated on taking one of her violins; she had never been without one since the age of four. It would be a shame for her to lose the Stradivarius and she loved her Juzek just as much. So, she decided perhaps this would be the first time she would be without a violin.

Yes, I am leaving it here, she told herself.

The morning of their departure saw all of Camelot out cheering or their success. They were on a quest to rescue the remaining white dragons in the world! They would be up against other kingdoms if any rivaling knights crossed their path. They would be traveling far far away to a distant land. They would have Merlin report to King Arthur on their progress. No one knew how long they would be gone.

Gunther was having so much fun; he practiced flying every day to get ready for this quest, so he was in fine form by the time they departed.

Kanani was placed on a horse with Sophie; all of the knights were ahead of them. I’m so excited! Sophie always does such fun things! Gunther and Merlin were riding beside them. Jennie was crying, and then ran over trying to stop Sophia by waving her hands.

Sophia stopped her horse and when Jennie reached her she said, “Don’t forget your phone so you can call when the quest is finished Sophie,” and then she handed Sophie the phone.

“Thank you, very much big sister,” she said as she grabbed the phone and they continued on their way.

Sophia saw Susan running over to Jennie putting her arm around her to give reassurance. Kimo was waving goodbye too. Sophie and Kanani then caught up with Merlin.

They traveled north all day and finally stopped to set up camp many hours later before dusk that night.

“Lamorak, how far have we come and where do you think we are?” Sophia asked him.

“We have come about 1000 paces and we have many to reach Northern Scotland. We might be in for some action with rivalry knights when we get farther north.” he answered. “Here’s a copy of our route in case we get separated.” Sophia took the map and tucked it into her pocket.

“Thank you Lamorak.”

“Gunther, do you feel good about this trip?” Sophia asked the dragon.

“Yes, I am very excited. I wish I could fly ahead and see what is there.” He said.

“That would be too dangerous Gunther, that is why you must stay with us.” Lamorak reminded him.

“I know,” answered Gunther scratching his front paw on the ground to make a comfy bed to sleep in as the group began to settle in for the night.

They traveled two more weeks with no incidents, and then Merlin decided to let King Arthur know their whereabouts. He took out one of his doves out of his bag and tied a note on to his leg and let him go.

The next morning, they packed up and started on their way. It happened around noon when they were getting close to a forest. They walked into an ambush! Arrows flew over their heads! Sophia’s horse reared up and she fell off with Kanani. Her phone slipped out of her skirt pocket. She tried to grab it, but in all the confusion missed. Lamorak jumped was off his horse grabbing her and pulling her towards Gunther.  He called Gunther to come get Sophia and Kanani.
