WHEN MERLIN came down from the tree, he caught some rabbits with his magic and that is how Sophia saw him approaching. Gunther made a fire with one hot breath to keep them warm, while Sophia and Kanani gathered some herbs.

“Hi Merlin, any sign of them?” she pleaded.

“No, my dear there isn’t. We can’t stay out here in the open; I saw a waterfall and lake not far from here. We need to go that way, pointing towards the northwest, perhaps there will be a cave we can occupy. Let’s put out this fire and start walking towards it.”

“Ok, I agree, Merlin.” Sophia said stomping out the fire to follow him.

A boar charged at them from the woods! Gunther killed him with his dragon fire. It was amazing; Gunther was shocked too. He had never breathed fire before! Now they had enough food for a big dinner, dragons can sure eat a lot. They drug the bore behind them and approached the waterfall. Kanani was so happy to see water she jumped in and swam around. This is so much fun!

“Look, there’s a cave behind the waterfall,” Merlin pointed out. “Stay here, I will see if it’s empty.”

“Ok,” Sophia stayed where she was, watching Kanani swim. She was having a great time splashing around. Sophia laughed, in spit their situation they could still have some fun.

“The cave’s empty,” said Merlin, “let’s make a fire at the opening.”

“Oh, this is nice,” Sophia said walking behind the waterfall. Kanani came running up shaking herself all over them.

Oh joy. Thanks, Kanani, just what I needed. She thought sarcastically. The opening and cave were big enough for Gunther too. They ate dinner and then sat around the fire talking about the day. Hoping that the knights were ok and coming to find them soon.
