“WE’RE FINALLY here!” Sophia shouted with joy!
“I am so excited!” Stated Gunther nervously.
“Ok, why don’t we land and walk around to find a good place to leave Sophie and Kanani, Gunther.” Said Merlin.
Gunther landed; there were beautiful white sand beaches with limestone cliffs at Dunnet Head.
“Oh, look there’s a huge cave, Merlin! Can we check it out?” Sophie asked him.
“Let me go first in case something lives in it Sophie.” said Merlin.
He climbed down the cliff and proceeded to check out the cave. He was gone a long time. Then he appeared with a grin on his face just as Sophie was starting to get worried.
“It’s empty, follow me.” He said gesturing to follow him.
Kanani bounded down ahead of Merlin and Sophia climbed down behind him. Gunther flew and beat them all there. Beautiful eagles were flying around them. It was gorgeous here, but Sophie knew the weather in winter was cold.
“Kanani and I will be fine here Merlin. Do you want to stay one night or go over to the Islands right away?” she asked.
“I think we should go take a quick look and come back for you tonight Sophie. This cave is empty now, but who knows what animal lives here at night.” he said.
“Then please go and hurry back,” she said as she walked over to Gunther and kissed his face. “You’ll be ok Gunther, I love you.” she told him.
“I love you too,” Gunther replied.
With that Gunther and Merlin took off and left Kanani and Sophia on the beach. They arrived on the little island of South Roanaldsay a short time later.
Gunther landed with Merlin and they looked around. Suddenly a white dragon came forward to see who had come for a visit. There were ten dragons, counting a baby dragon.
A big dragon came forward, the others stayed back.
“I’m Drake, who are you?” he asked Gunther.
“I’m Gunther, I live with King Arthur and this is his wizard, Merlin.”
“Gunther!” Shouted Drake, your alive! I didn’t recognize!” He bounded forward to hug Gunther. Merlin jumped off to get out of the way.
All the dragons introduced themselves to Gunther; Merlin took out his looking glass to check on Sophia and Kanani. To his horror he saw two big black dragons with something in their claws!
