Acknowledgments

Dorling Kindersley would like to thank the following people whose help and assistance contributed to the preparation of this book.

Main Contributors

Eleanor Berman is a widely published writer for magazines and newspapers and the author of 14 travel guides. Her books include two other guides for Dorling Kindersley, Top 10 New York City and the Eyewitness Travel Guide: New York City, which won a Thomas Cook award for best guidebook. She also contributed to DK Family Guide: New York City and Family Guide: Washington, DC.

Joseph Hayes moves between New York, Italy, Scotland, and his home in Orlando, while writing about travel, food, and art for print and online publications across the world. He is the restaurant critic for Orlando Magazine and has worked with DK Eyewitness Travel since 2003. He is also a playwright and a jazz event producer, whose work has been produced in New York, California, Florida, and the United Kingdom. Hayes worked for many years in the publishing field in New York before moving to central Florida to take up writing as a full-time career.

Stephen Keeling has been traveling to Florida since 1991, and covering the state for various travel guides since 2008. He worked as a financial journalist and editor in Asia for seven years before writing his first travel book. Since then he has written for The Independent, The Daily Telegraph, and various travel publications. He has authored an award-winning family guide to Tuscany and Umbria, and has researched travel guides to Puerto Rico, New England, Mexico, and Canada. Stephen lives in New York City.

Chelle Koster Walton, a travel writer, has written and contributed to 10 guidebooks – two of which won Lowell Thomas Awards – and articles for magazines such as FamilyFun, Caribbean Travel + Life, National Geographic Traveler, Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel, Endless Vacation, The New York Post, and other print and electronic media. She is the co-founder of www.guidebookwriters.com and is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers.

Sharon Weightman Hoffmann is a freelance writer and editor based in Atlantic Beach, Florida. Although her primary work is in journalism and marketing, she also provides emerging authors with a range of “book doctor” services. Her first non-fiction book is a biography of blues musician Blind Blake, forthcoming from Blues Images.
