I’m sorry
Matt:
I want to apologize to Dana. I was rude to her and I feel bad about it.
Beth:
I think that’s a good idea.
Matt:
How should I apologize?
Beth:
You should call her and ask her to meet you. Tell her you want to talk about what happened and apologize.
Matt:
Okay, I just called her. We’re going to meet next week.
Beth:
That’s good. I’m happy she agreed to meet with you.
Matt:
Me too. So, what do I say when I see her?
Beth:
You should tell her you’re sorry and why you’re sorry. And make sure she tells you how she feels too.
Matt:
Yeah. I hate it when I say something that I regret. I wish I could just keep my mouth shut sometimes.
Beth:
Everyone does things they regret. The good thing is that you realized what you said was wrong and you want to apologize for it. Not everyone would do that.
Matt:
I guess. Dana and I have been friends for so many years. I remember when I first met her. We were both taking a class on dinosaurs in college.
Beth:
Dinosaurs?!
Matt:
Yeah, it was cool! We sat next to each other in class one day and we just started talking. And then before I knew it, we were hanging out almost every day!
Beth:
Aww, that’s so nice. I’m sure she’ll forgive you. I wouldn’t worry too much.
Matt:
I hope you’re right. Her friendship is really important to me.
Beth:
I think she understands that. Good luck next week! Let me know how it goes.
Matt:
Will do.
