Planning a retirement party
Trish:
Hey, Garrett. We should start planning Bill’s retirement party. His last day is a month from today.
Garrett:
Yes, let’s talk about it! Do you have a few minutes now?
Trish:
Yeah. Let me go get a pen and paper so I can take some notes.
Garrett:
Okay.
Trish:
So, what do you think? Should we have the party at the office or somewhere else, like a restaurant?
Garrett:
I think the office is too small. And he’s been here twenty-five years. I feel like that calls for an out-of-the-office celebration.
Trish:
I agree. I think that would be more enjoyable for everyone. And that way Bill’s family can come if they want.
Garrett:
Yep.
Trish:
I’ve heard great things around that new restaurant Hearth. Have you heard of it?
Garrett:
Yeah, I have! I’ve been meaning to try it.
Trish:
Me too. They have a room in the back that you can reserve for events. Let’s look online and see how much it is.
Garrett:
Okay.
Trish:
Oh, the price isn’t that bad. It’s $300 for a three-hour event.
Garrett:
That sounds good for such a nice restaurant.
Trish:
Yeah. Hmm… what day should we have the party?
Garrett:
What about Friday, August 5?
Trish:
I think that’s perfect.
Garrett:
Great! Does the restaurant provide food?
Trish:
They probably provide some drinks and appetizers.
Garrett:
All right, I’ll write down some questions to ask the restaurant. Do you want to ask everyone if they can make it that day?
Trish:
Sure!
