Power outage
Elizabeth:
I think the power just went out.
Jung-woo:
Really? I thought you just turned out the lights.
Elizabeth:
No. Try turning on the bathroom light.
Jung-woo:
It isn’t working.
Elizabeth:
What about the bedroom light?
Jung-woo:
Nope. That’s not working either.
Elizabeth:
Hmm, okay.
Jung-woo:
Oh, I just got a text from the electric company. It says that the power will be out for an hour.
Elizabeth:
Ugh, all right. That’s not too bad. It’s time to light the candles!
Jung-woo:
It’s good that we have a lot of candles. We can have a romantic dinner!
Elizabeth:
Ha ha. Yes we can! Oh, John just texted me. He said the power is out at his house, too.
Jung-woo:
Oh, really?
Elizabeth:
Yeah. I’m surprised. He lives three miles away!
Jung-woo:
I wonder what happened.
Elizabeth:
I don’t know. But dinner is ready! Let’s put a couple more candles on the table so we can see what we’re eating.
Jung-woo:
Good idea! We don’t need any more surprises tonight.
Elizabeth:
Oh, I just got a text from the electric company. It says the power outage was caused by balloons touching the power lines.
Jung-woo:
Oh really?
Elizabeth:
It also says the power will be out for at least two hours.
Jung-woo:
Wow. I guess we will have a romantic dessert too!
Elizabeth:
Yep, I guess so!
