Preparing for a job interview
Allie: I have a job interview next week and I’m so nervous!
Nathan: Oh really? What’s the interview for?
Allie: It’s for a manager position at a clothing store.
Nathan: Oh wow, manager! Good for you. You’ve been working in retail for so long; it’s definitely time for the next step!
Allie: Yeah, I think so. I’m ready for a new challenge. And a higher salary.
Nathan: Ha ha, that would be nice too! So how did you find out about this job?
Allie: Online. I’ve only been looking at jobs for a couple weeks. I found this job posting last week and sent them my resume and cover letter. They got back to me two days later.
Nathan: That’s pretty quick! You do have an impressive resume.
Allie: Aww, thanks. I’ve worked hard!
Nathan: So, what do you think they’re going to ask you?
Allie: Probably about my experience working in customer service, difficulties I’ve encountered on the job and how I’ve overcome them. They may give me a couple scenarios and then have me tell them what I would do. I’ve been practicing all of those answers.
Nathan: That’s good. I think you’ll do great.
Allie: I don’t know. I get really nervous in interviews.
Nathan: That’s normal. You just have to believe in yourself! Imagine that you already have the job.
Allie: He-he, okay. I’ll do that!
Nathan: Let me know how the interview goes!
Allie: I will!
