A Devotional Moment
WHERE THERE IS STRIFE, THERE IS PRIDE, BUT WISDOM IS FOUND IN THOSE WHO TAKE ADVICE. ~ PROVERBS 13:10
As humans on this fallen world, strife will touch every person’s life. Some problems may be small, others seem too big for one person to handle. Most people discover coping mechanisms as they learn from the hard knocks in life. God has offered a solution, too. He tells us to lay our troubles and worries at His feet and he will overcome them.
In Christmas House, the protagonists are victims of other people’s strife. They’ve finally been emancipated from the yoke of those who couldn’t overcome their emotional problems, but they have little experience in dealing with the day to day issues that same life throws at them. As they warily explore friendship and a relationship with God, they discover that life isn’t all strife and discontent, but there are many times that happiness can be achieved.
Have you ever felt disheartened and weary because you have to deal with issues caused by other people? His way isn’t our way, and sometimes we have to wait, or we never receive the answer we seek because God works on a grander scale than we do. Still, leaning on Him in times of trouble can bring us spiritual, inner peace regardless of what the world throws at us. Learning to lean on God opens possibilities they’ve never considered. Old hurts, past grievances, and distrust fall away as God shows them the way, and His own unconditional love.
LORD, HELP ME NOT TO HINDER OTHERS, AND HELP ME TO INTERACT WITH THEM WITHOUT STRIFE, BUT WILL ALL THE LOVE AND TRUST YOU SHOW ME. IN JESUS’ NAME I PRAY, AMEN.
