I know this appears hard, but only because it’s different. Once you’ve worked with a team that manages itself, you’ll wonder why you did it any other way. Having a team be capable of running itself is easier than doing it all yourself. You can go to sleep at night and not get woken up by a freaked out person wondering what to do. You can promote ideas far crazier and much better than any you can come up with by yourself. You can have time to focus on strategy and impress the CEO with your brilliance. You can even be a better CEO.
My last bit of advice is simple: Don’t do this alone. Get a coach or find an accountability buddy. It’s easier if you have others to work with. They are support, they keep you honest, they give you advice. Hard things take help. But it’s worth it to have the team you’ve always dreamed of.
