GRAPES
KIWI, BANANA, ORANGE AND GRAPE CRUSH
Here you can use either the green-fleshed kiwi fruit or the sweeter, more aromatic golden kiwi fruit. For a change, use the deep red juice from blood oranges to give a sweeter flavour with a distinct hint of raspberry and a more intense aroma than your average orange.
PREPARATION TIME: 15 minutes | SERVES: 4
4 large kiwi fruit, peeled
1 medium banana, peeled
1 cup (180 g/6 oz) sweet seedless green grapes
1 cup (260 g/9 oz) natural yoghurt
1 cup (250 ml/9 fl oz) freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tablespoon runny honey
Roughly chop the kiwi fruit and banana. Remove the tiny stems from the grapes and put the grapes into a blender with the kiwi fruit, banana, yoghurt, orange juice and honey. Blend to the consistency you prefer. A chunky texture can be used as a dessert and a smooth consistency is lovely as a topping for desserts such as poached pears.
TIP Although most people prefer to peel kiwi fruit, the fuzzy skin on organic fruit is perfectly edible and produces an interesting taste. Wash thoroughly before eating
