The National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center is an organization based out of Montana whose mission is to end violence against Native women and children. The NIWRC works to support grassroots movements and provides culturally grounded resources to those fighting for a life of safety and dignity for indigenous women across the United States.
We, the anthology creators, believe we have a responsibility to respond to the needs of Native communities with hearts and ears open. Monetary support is only a small drop in the ocean. Our hope is that this introduction encourages all of us, as a community, to look deeper into the movements calling for a return of tribal sovereignty and protecting Native women and children.
