This is my life declaration and the commitment I made to myself:
This is my New Life Declaration. The past has passed. I leave behind all that needs to cease. I grasp all that is to come. I am embracing my future by committing to the following actions to create my new life. And through the power of Jesus Christ, I will do this.
I will replace my self-talk with Scripture. I claim 2 Timothy 1:7 as my life verse. I will post it, speak it, and trust it to guide me.
I will create distance from [name a specific person] to protect my spirit. I will love her “from a distance” because she is unsafe to me emotionally.
I will get out of debt beginning with my Visa credit card. I will pay triple the minimum and stop using this card for unnecessary shopping. I will make myself accountable to my friend John because he knows my finances and is trustworthy.
I will begin studying how I can start my new business by . . .
In this declaration I proclaim my new life. My story starts now; the past has only led me here to this powerful moment.
In alignment with my Authenticity Checks, my commitment to building my new life, and my desire to live powerfully, these are the decisions I have made:
These decisions I still must make to live a powerful life of purpose:
These actions I will take to live a powerful life of purpose:
Here is how I will begin now:
Next month, to keep me on track and accountable, I will:
What these decisions will mean for my future is:
To honor these commitments, I have spoken them before God, and I will share them with (my sibling, pastor, best friend, support group, or whoever I am comfortable with):
In relation to these commitments, I will take these actions starting on this date:
As I commit myself in this declaration, I thank God who wants great things for me as well as an intimate relationship with me. To the extent I am able and with the faith I have, I will allow God’s input and control over my life. I ask for faith to allow Him to meet me where I am now and teach me to trust Him more. I commit my trust in Him as my God who knows the way I will go and has prepared many blessings as I follow Him.
Note: When sharing in a group, the group should lovingly ask questions to clarify any statement that is vague or nondescriptive.
Copy this declaration and post it somewhere you can see it. Refer to it often and hold up your weekly activities to see if it matches what you have declared. If it does, you are on the right track to your new life. If it does not, it’s time to review the weekly Authenticity Checks to see where you wandered from the decisions and actions you determined.
I pray these past eight weeks have allowed you to honestly review where you are and determine what you want your life to be in Christ. You do not go out alone. The Holy Spirit will guide you if you allow Him to. Remember the decisions you have made. They are sacred to you, and if you committed them to Him, they are sacred to God. Live your life powerfully by having the discipline and the structure to empower it and to impact your world. God bless you as you journey and take on your world; it needs all that you have to give.
