This simple, thoughtful gift allows sewers to practice stitches. Young and beginner sewers may need help threading a needle and tying knots.
Instructions
1. Print and cut out the pattern piece, or simply make one yourself by drawing a 4" square. Use chalk to trace it onto the fabric for the tops of the coasters four times.
2. Then trace it onto the fabric for the bottoms of the coasters four times. Cut out the eight fabric pieces.
3. Put one top piece and one bottom piece together with the good sides facing out. Pin the pieces together.
4. Sew around all four sides with a running stitch or whipstitch. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to make the other three coasters.
MAKE IT YOURS
Add a felt backing.
Embroider the front before sewing the sides together.
Draw designs on muslin coasters with fabric markers or crayons.
