Instructions

  1. 1. Push a threaded needle through the sweater from the inside. Then pinch the sides of the hole together and stitch the edges together on the outside of the sweater.

  2. 2. Push the needle back to the inside, and knot the thread on the inside of the sweater. Cut the thread near the knot.

MORE MENDING TIPS

Before you begin, check the area that needs to be mended and think about what you need to do to fix it.

What type of thread should you use? That depends on the fabric that needs mending. For light, cotton fabrics, you might want to use a thin thread like the kind used for machine sewing and a sharp needle with a small eye. For sweaters, craft thread is usually best.
