Tomato–Basil Crostini

Serves 2 to 4

Basic Rosemary Crostini (here), rosemary omitted

3 medium tomatoes, cut into 16 slices

8 fresh basil leaves with stems torn off

Drizzle of olive oil

Pinch of Himalayan or kosher salt

Pinch of freshly ground black pepper

Set the prepared crostini on a plate or platter and top each with 2 tomato slices. Place a basil leaf on top of each. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
